Water Features – Ionize For Health

Most people purchase home water features for plethora reasons; to enhance their home decor or decorating style, to mimic what they have seen in other homes or on decorating-oriented television shows, to change other’s perceptions of the their sophistication or to embrace guests with their elegance, for the artful beauty or soothing presence water features provide, or just about any other reasons imaginable. Although any of these motivators for purchasing are appropriate, most miss the most fundamental purpose of water features… health.

All of us in our daily lives are surrounded by electrically charged Ions. Some of these ions are good for us while others are bad. Ions, in simple terms, are atoms or molecules that are either positive or negative in electrical charge, but the association of positive and negative is counter intuitive when discussing impact on humans; negative is good, positive is bad. These ions, bad or good, are consumed without our permission with every breath we take.

Positive ions are all around us. They are “thrown off” by every electrical device around you from hair dryers to microwave ovens, televisions to computers. Do you sleep with an electric blanket in the winter? Then you have found another source. The worst cases of positive ions you have most likely heard about but paid little attention to are in more recent news reports and research surrounding high-power lines over schools and playgrounds in some communities, and their impact on the health of children. Positive ions also have been correlated to many medical illnesses and disorders from Alzheimers to birth defects, and cancer to SIDS, with some of the most reported side effects being depression and chronic fatigue. Positive ions are also “released” from other nonelectrical sources like car exhaust, cigarette smoke, and others.

Negative ions on the other hand have a positive impact on your health. Negative ions are naturally produced by many means. Natural production of negative ions is most concentrated in clean, fresh air that is not subject to an overabundance of electrical sources. This presents a bit of a dilemma in our day as air quality is on the decline, and living in an electromagnetic world continues to accelerate. But take heart. There is an alternative without having to move to an obscure cabin atop the highest mountain and hunt your next meal. The production of negative ions can be created out of thin air.

The best sources for the rapid production of negative ions are in the movement of water: ocean waves, natural waterfalls, and the evaporation of water, etc. When water molecules are ruptured by movement, the crashing on rocks for example, the negative ions “stick” to the positive ions (bad guys) and neutralize them. Whether it be a dust particle or the electromagnetic field caused by your clock radio, the positive ion will dissipate. One less bad guy in your life.

So how do you produce this effect out of thin air? The easiest way is with indoor fountains and waterfalls. From the smallest tabletop to the largest wall mounted or floor model, the water droplets will rupture on impact at the end of their journey; taking with them a few of the positive ions and their negative impact on your life. You will not only enhance your home decor and provide yourself and family with a soothing and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy, your water feature will ionize your health!
